Katerina Souvorova

Dr. Katerina Souvorova

Before coming to Grace, Katerina served as the Director of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waldorf and Concord-St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Bethesda. Katerina has a Ph.D. in piano performance from the conservatory of Belarus. She has held positions of teaching and vocal coaching at Catholic University, Shenandoah Conservatory, and George Mason University. She has two passions in her life – piano and voice, which she combined in founding, in 2003, her own opera company, Bel Cantanti Opera, in Montgomery County, MD.

Katerina believes in serving the community by bringing music into the lives of people and she is passionate in helping singers to find their unique voice and develop their talent and career. Katerina lives with her husband Alex in Germantown, MD. Both of her children Daria and Ivan are grown and live in the area. Alex is a physicist, working at the NIH in Bethesda. Daria is an artist and teaches art in Towson. Ivan is in computers.

Leanne Elliott

Leanne grew up in Brookhaven just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was active in church throughout her early years teaching Sunday school and participating in the Lutheran Youth Organization as the Delaware Conference Representative (2005-06), Vice President (2006-07), and President (2007-08). She also attended several mission trips and the one that changed her life and helped her discern her call to ministry was the Ubuntu University II trip to Mexico in 2007.

After high school Leanne moved to Everett, Washington to attend [the former] Trinity Lutheran College. While in Washington Leanne was involved in several ministries most notably her leadership in developing, opening, and running a youth drop in center “The Spot” in Snohomish, Washington and tutoring at the alternative high school “AIM”.

In May 2012 Leanne received her Bachelor of Arts in Children, Youth, and Family Studies and minors in Children’s Ministry and Biblical Studies. She moved back east and joined the staff of Grace Lutheran Church in August of 2012 and she is thankful to the congregation for taking a chance on a college graduate and having faith in her gifts and abilities to do this work.

Since coming to Grace Leanne has become involved in leadership in the Delaware-Maryland Synod and ELCA Youth Ministry Network. She enjoys being a part of the wider church and is really enjoying the opportunity to grow both her career and personal leadership skills as well as her faith.

Leanne currently lives in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and enjoys spending her free time exploring the Gettysburg Battle Fields, traveling, and watching reality TV. These days she finds herself back in Brookhaven as frequently as possible spoiling her niece.

Dana Chirillo

Dana joined the Little Friends of Grace staff in 2015 as a teacher assistant and as a lead teacher in 2017. She has been in the education field since 2002 and has loved every aspect and role. She has taught all ages from 2 to 66 years old and various subjects and classrooms. Dana earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is thrilled to have this opportunity as the Preschool Director and to continue our dedicated program enriching the lives of children.

Dana and her husband, Brandon have four sons. All of her boys attended LFOG (2008-2016). Joey and Andy attend Delone Catholic High School, Gabe is in middle school and Nick is in elementary school. They are members of St. John’s Catholic Church where Dana and Brandon are Confirmation teachers. In her spare time, Dana enjoys reading and cross-stitching but most importantly, she loves spending time with her family. She loves kayaking, gardening and watching a good movie.

Erik Piisila

Director of Contemporary Music

Erik Piisila is Grace Lutheran’s Director of Contemporary Music. You will most often find Erik leading rehearsal’s with Praise Team members on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm in Grace Hall. Coordinating music selections with scriptures and sermon themes is a regular part of Erik’s weekly routine at Grace. You can count on 7 to 9 different contemporary praise songs from week to week during the 9:00 a.m. services in Grace Hall.

Erik has been involved in contemporary music at Grace in some form or fashion since the early 90′s. Erik brings his vocal, guitar and percussive leadership to Grace from Baltimore secular bands such as Planetary Zygote and Thread as well as contemporary Christian groups such as Prodigal Son and The Jordan Wade Band. Erik has also volunteered his music talents with ecumenical praise teams serving the Emmaus and Chrysalis communities.

When he’s not filming projects in developing countries for Lutheran World Relief or developing websites and graphics for other projects, Erik spends his free time with his wife Emily and son Makai. He has been known to show up for service most Sundays on his Harley Davidson – another of his passions in life.

Dawn M. McFadden

Dawn started at Grace Lutheran Church in May, 2011. She has many years of administrative support experience; she has worked in the manufacturing industry along with several local non-profit organizations. Prior to coming to Grace, she worked as a church secretary for a local congregation in Hampstead. In that position, she found she enjoys serving others and wanted to continue her service here at Grace.

Dawn lives in Westminster with her husband Sam. She has two daughters. Kaylee, and her husband Brian and their daughters Gabby and Lexie, and Lindsey. Both her daughters also live in Westminster. Dawn attends church at Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys bowling (in a league with Sam and traveling to tournaments too!) and reading.

Marian has been at Grace Lutheran Church since September, 2016. She has over 12 years of combined experience between administrative and IT support. Prior to joining the staff at Grace, Marian has volunteered with us weekly serving our community members during Ardent Folk. Marian has a strong desire to help and serve others; she felt that working with us would be a continuation of this desire.

Marian lives in Westminster. She and her husband, Michael, have three children. Stephen is a Store Manager at Walmart and lives in Westminster, MD. Kayla, a recent graduate of Carroll Community College, is working toward her teaching degree. Mary is a 2019 high school graduate and plans to continue her education to become a nurse. Marian also has another daughter, Tina, she is a nurse and lives in Salt Lake City, UT and 2 grandchildren. Jesse and Alexia, also in Salt Lake City.

In her free time, Marian likes to read, play bingo, crochet and be on her computer, but most important to her is spending time with her family!

Angela Procario

Angela joined our staff at Grace part-time in May 2009. She comes to us with over forty years of accounting experience and a B.S. in accounting/business administration from George Washington University. She has experience in the federal government, the private sector and non-profits. Prior to arriving at Grace, she worked full-time in the finance department at a local continuing care retirement community. Angela also goes on Project Serve mission trips when she can.

In her spare time, she allows her Amish neighbors to use her land for cattle, enjoys reading, music and knitting. She attends church at Uniontown Bible Church where she volunteers in the Youth Ministry and folds bulletins on Fridays.

Renee Brewer

Renee has been working in education for over twenty-five years. She worked at Christian Preschool for sixteen years as a teacher’s assistant with children ages two through kindergarten. In September of 2006 she became an assistant teacher at Little Friends of Grace, working with the three and four year old classes. She became the Preschool Administrative Assistant in 2014.

Renee and her husband Gene have two grown children. Their daughter Jill and her husband Robbie have a daughter, Taylor and a son, R.J. Their son Daniel and his wife, Kristin have two sons, Caedmon and Corban as well as a daughter, Noelle. In her free time, Renee likes to walk and read. She loves to spend time being a Mimi.

Facilities Staff

Ronald Wentz

Ronnie has served on the facilities staff at Grace since 2007. As Facilities Manager, he is responsible to manage Grace’s large building and grounds, coordinate set–up and clean–up of all activities, and supervise the custodians and the facility volunteers. Ronnie also oversees the security needs of the building, including opening and closing the building each day.

A native of Carroll County, Ronnie has spent his life in the central and northern areas of the county. In October, 2015, he completed his High School Diploma after much hard work.

Ronnie is a fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. He lives in Manchester. In his spare time, he enjoys using his bar-b-q, working in the yard or planning next year’s train garden.
