Director of Christian Education, Youth and Family Ministries
Leanne grew up in Brookhaven just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was active in church throughout her early years teaching Sunday school and participating in the Lutheran Youth Organization as the Delaware Conference Representative (2005-06), Vice President (2006-07), and President (2007-08). She also attended several mission trips and the one that changed her life and helped her discern her call to ministry was the Ubuntu University II trip to Mexico in 2007.
After high school Leanne moved to Everett, Washington to attend [the former] Trinity Lutheran College. While in Washington Leanne was involved in several ministries most notably her leadership in developing, opening, and running a youth drop in center “The Spot” in Snohomish, Washington and tutoring at the alternative high school “AIM”.
In May 2012 Leanne received her Bachelor of Arts in Children, Youth, and Family Studies and minors in Children’s Ministry and Biblical Studies. She moved back east and joined the staff of Grace Lutheran Church in August of 2012 and she is thankful to the congregation for taking a chance on a college graduate and having faith in her gifts and abilities to do this work.
Since coming to Grace Leanne has become involved in leadership in the Delaware-Maryland Synod and ELCA Youth Ministry Network. She enjoys being a part of the wider church and is really enjoying the opportunity to grow both her career and personal leadership skills as well as her faith.
Leanne currently lives in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and enjoys spending her free time exploring the Gettysburg Battle Fields, traveling, and watching reality TV. These days she finds herself back in Brookhaven as frequently as possible spoiling her niece.
