This summer Trace will be heading to the Osage Nation Reservation in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for a weeklong mission trip through YouthWorks! While on the reservation, we will do small work projects such as painting and ramp repair/building, serving in the community food pantry, running a VBS for children and other projects needed in the community. These trips are often life changing for students as they meet and build relationships with community members, students from other church communities, and each other. Mission Trips are not cheap and this summer because we are doing a trip unlike any we have done before, the cost is significantly greater. We have asked families to cover $1,000 of the total cost per person. Students have been working hard to earn money through the Italian Feast, Rock-a-Thon, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, and will earn money working our Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser in April but every little bit helps! This summer we have 17 youth and 4 adults (totaling 21 participants) and as you can imagine, the cost is significant! By participating in Shareholders, you are investing in the missions of our congregations. Through your support, our youth are able to serve our brothers and sisters in the Osage Nation and grow in their faith.
Shareholders is simple! For your $25 investment in our youth and their efforts to be Christ’s disciples in the world, you also get something in return! Each person/family unit who donates will have their last name proudly displayed on our shirts that we will wear upon arrival at our site and you will receive a personal thank-you from the students on the trip sharing about their experience along with a photo collage! You may use the special Shareholder envelope or place your check/cash (clearly marked for Shareholders) in the offering OR make your donation through Square! Envelopes will be distributed after worship March 21-22 and extras will be available on the bulletin board in the Upper Gathering Space. Contributions can be made up through May 17.
