Friends, we have a number of holiday celebrations and giving and service opportunities coming up!  I want to especially commend to you our holiday food drives.  Our social ministry committee has for many years blessed local families in our community with a holiday meal; you can see the list of food items for our Thanksgiving collection, which ends on November 24th!  If you can help us out with any of those items, please bring them in this week or next; any “extra” will be used in our Christmas meals, so bring whatever you can.  Then ON November 24th, please consider helping us to deliver the meals to local families (after 11 AM worship, around noon); we’ll have instructions and addresses, and if we get enough volunteers we’ll only need each driver to deliver one or maybe two.  This is a fun and rewarding activity for the whole family, and only takes a few minutes after church!

Our texts this weekend speak of a deep human fear and hope, which is: will God intervene in the world in an overt way?  For healing?  For destruction?  In the end, what is going to happen?

Let’s talk about it!  We can’t wait to see you.

God’s grace and peace, Pastor Matt
