In 1990, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group:

“Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.”

Since then, more than $170 million has been generated for local charities across the country through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that transforms the time around the Big Game into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and caring for those in need.

Super Bowl Sunday will be in just three weeks, February 9th. The teams have not yet been finalized, and while it is likely that none of us will be on the field in New Orleans, each of us can play a big role in the Souper Bowl of Caring right here at Grace. We will be collecting unexpired non-perishable goods from January 18 – February 9. Collected items will be donated to Carroll County Food Sunday. Tables will be set up in Grace Hall and in the Lower Gathering Space for donations.

One table in each area will be designated for the AFC Champion (hopefully, the Ravens!) and one table will be designated for the NFC Champion.

Please join us as we share God’s love for our neighbors in need and give generously to the Souper Bowl of Caring!
