A number of people at Grace have supported the work of Compassion International for many years. As an organization, Compassion International is a “Christian child sponsorship organization working to release children from poverty by meeting their right-now and long-term needs in partnership with the local church.” Over the past year, Compassion has helped serve 2.3 million impoverished children around the world and provided 1.5 million vulnerable children with medical care like emergency surgery, injury treatments, and trauma counseling. They have also provided food and hygiene kits and have provided more than $16 million for disaster relief to local churches.

On Sunday, May 4th, Gloria Bair representing the Social Ministry committee will be available in the Upper Gathering space after the 9 AM service to provide personal testimony to the work of Compassion and materials on how to sign up to sponsor a child through Compassion International. Join us and hear how sponsors are impacted by those whom they have helped to foster and care for over the years, and consider becoming a sponsor yourself.
