Ardent Folk Feeding Ministry

Looking for a way to connect with others in meaningful service to our community? Ardent Folk, one of our feeding ministries at Grace is in urgent need of a Cook/Team Leader.

At Ardent Folk, we serve an evening meal to those in need in our community every Thursday evening from 5:30-7pm. Our guests include many who are food insecure, or homeless, but also many folks who are in need of the companionship and fellowship of an evening meal among people who care. We typically serve 55-60 guests every week.

You can make a difference! The Cook is responsible for planning the menu, shopping for any items that are not available in our pantry and preparing the meal. (We do have a weekly budget and you would be reimbursed for your expenses). The meal can be as simple as soup and sandwiches, spaghetti and meatballs, casseroles or whatever you love to cook. Our teams are already established with volunteers arriving at various times to help with prep work, set up, dishwashing and cleanup so you have plenty of helpers.

Teams are set up to serve bi-weekly, so it is a twice a month commitment of just a couple of hours, BUT, each team has 2 Cooks, so you would only be responsible to take to the lead 1 time per month and assist the other Cook with prep work when you are not the lead.

Please consider lending our important ministry a hand. For more info, contact Diane Fogle at 240-575-4350 or [email protected]. You are more than welcome to attend one night to see our process and enjoy the fellowship with our amazing volunteers!
