Rise Against Hunger is a hands-on international hunger relief program that coordinates assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious meals for needy third world countries.
After a very successful event last year, Grace Lutheran Church will once again host a meal packing event in Grace Hall on Saturday, March 15th. We will meet at 12:45 for instructions and assignments and start packing food at 1:00, but we will need volunteers as early as 11:00 that morning to help with set up! The actual packing event will last about 2 hours. We will be providing pizza, snacks, and beverages for all volunteers.
Our goal for this event is to pack 15,000 meals and we will need at least 60 volunteers. The cost of 15,000 meals is $6,400, and we are hoping to raise those funds through donations. Meals are packed in assembly line fashion, and there are opportunities at the event for volunteers of all ages.
If you are unable to attend in person, please consider donating to this event.
